Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you NEED goats - if so then why? ? What are the chances that you or your kids will get sick of the new "pet" within two months? Pretty good?

Consider an alternative; goats are a lot of responsibility. Additionally, goats are herd animals - you need at least two. Until you are sure you want goats and can take care of them, we recommend wethers or does only.

  • Are you looking for a lawnmower?

Then buy a lawnmower or a pair of sheep. Goats are ruminant browsers, which means they eat more shrubbery than grass.

  • Will your fence contain goats?

Old fashioned farmers say you need to “build a fence to hold water” to contain goats - they can jump, crawl, squeeze, and destroy. Tethering is dangerous - don't do it.

If your fence is not already built, you do not need to purchase goats now.

  • Will you offer a safe environment?

Goats are PREY animals. Domestic and wild predators are a serious threat. Dogs that are not livestock-safe are especially dangerous. Not even excellent fencing is always enough of a deterrent, so you might also consider a livestock guardian animal. If you worry your own dog will harm goats, you probably don't need goats right now.

  • Are you prepared to spend money on things like dewormers, loose minerals, vaccines, and perhaps vet visits?

Goats are persnickety animals that require constant care and attention. They are not cheap to keep correctly. You will spend your money and your time to care for them, or you will certainly have a consistently sick herd.

  • Are you willing to learn how to care for them properly?

Find a goat mentor. They will need to be willing to answer questions for you when you feel like you’re being an absolute pest. A mentor’s guidance is invaluable!

Sales Policy

We will represent the animals as honestly as we can and provide information such as current health status, deworming records, kidding records when applicable, and vaccine history.

We maintain the right to refuse to sell to anyone for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • How well you take care of your animals

  • If we are aware you are a "revolving door" type farm

Be honest about your management, experience, and goals so we know if our animals will be a good match for you or not. (Honest is the best policy!)

Deposits may be paid in our Shop. (This is a link)

We keep a list of interested buyers and contact those buyers as kids are born. After kids born, then buyers may place a small deposit ($50) on the kid to hold it until weaning. This is on a first come, first served basis.

Deposits will be deducted from the total purchase price of the animal but are non-refundable if a buyer simply backs out of the sale. Deposits can be transferred to another animal or returned if the kid is injured, ill, develops any disqualifying traits, or meets an untimely demise.

Kids are weaned no younger than 10 weeks old. 12-16 weeks old (or older) is our preference.

Available kids are typically dam-raised and will be well-socialized. Kids are typically disbudded. (If not polled) Again, non-refundable if you change your mind for any reason other than the kid becoming injured or ill, developing a disqualifying trait, or if the kid dies.

We base the pricing of our goats on the generation of the goat, production, bloodlines, and overall confirmation.
We are open with our pricing it is all available in our Shop.
